These could be your rings… but they’re not. They’re mine. But picture yours there, because I am practicing to make sure your rings look great in the photos I take. ;)

A few weeks ago we took a trip to Missouri to visit some of my family who had yet to meet my kiddos. This included my grandparents and my dad, step-mom, and brother. We had a really good time and the kids loved meeting Grandma, Grandpa, Papa, Nana, and Uncle Josh. Thanks guys, for a great trip! Layla & Finn miss you already!

This year has had it’s ups and downs. Looking back i wish it were better. What I do know for sure is  that i was able to create some wonderful images with the help of my clients, friends, and family. I wanted to share my favorites here with you.

Thank you to everyone who has given us much needed support, love, and friendship this year. We love you and we hope this New Year brings nothing but good things for everyone.

Peace & Joy,

We decided to do a paperless Christmas card this year.

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am so sorry for the lack of posts lately. Things have been crazy busy for us. I’m hoping I can keep on top of things and post more often. It’s one of my resolutions. :)

Right now we are preparing ourselves for our first Christmas at home with just the four of us. Normally we go to Ohio to visit my family but we are really excited to make it our own this year. This weekend is all about homemade decorations and Christmas pics and I promise to post them when we are done. Until then I would like to offer an olive branch to make up for missed postings. This of course this comes in the form of photos of my own personal mascots…

Ahhh, memories. When I was a kid and we were either too tired or too lazy to cook, my step-dad Bill would sometimes make us nachos. These were no ordinary nachos though. They were homemade nachos from the oven with a bunch of yummy stuff piled on top. I loved them!

This weekend I was feeling a bit home sick (and maybe a bit lazy too ;) ) so we decided to have some nachos along with some awesomely yummy guacamole burgers (with grilled mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, cheese, and guacamole of course). It was SO good and the kids had fun sprinkling the cheese on the nachos. I took a few pics and decided I would share. :)

DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a food photographer. Man do I need to improve in this area! Also, in my defence, the light is  really really bad in my kitchen.

This week has been hard for our family but especially hard for my husband Jan. This weekend his grandfather Robert “Bobby” Gibson passed away from complications related to pneumonia and heart failure. The viewing was Tuesday and we had a service followed by burial yesterday. Jan’s mom and aunt are taking it hard. They lost their mom, Bobby’s wife Rose, nearly 5 years ago. We now will be facing another holiday season dealing with this loss.

Below is  a photo of Grandpa from June of last year. It was the only photo I could find of him that I had taken. They used it on the memorial program. Everyone really loved this shot and that makes me feel good and that maybe I helped a little in celebrating his memory.

Please keep Jan’s family in your thoughts as they get through this. It’s going to be a difficult road for them as they are a very close family.
