This included my grandparents and my dad, step-mom, and brother. We had a really good time and the kids loved meeting Grandma, Grandpa, Papa, Nana, and Uncle Josh. Thanks guys, for a great trip! Thursday is her birthday and she is SO excited. I am excited for her, and a little scared too. I feel like I may be losing my baby. This birthday seems huge to me. She is so grown up and is becoming her own person. She’s funny, smart, defiant, and independent. She is SO beautiful. I am so thankful for her and love her more than words can express.

You are our princess, our first baby, and you have half our hearts. You are everything I wanted you to be and SO much more. When you tell me stories true and make believe, when I catch you playing counting games all on your own, when you kiss and hug your brother telling him you love him and I know you mean it with your whole heart, my heart swells. In those moments I could never be happier. You have given us all so much joy and I thank God every day that he gave you to us.

When I was a kid and we were either too tired or too lazy to cook, my step-dad Bill would sometimes make us nachos. These were no ordinary nachos though. They were homemade nachos from the oven with a bunch of yummy stuff piled on top. I loved them!

This weekend I was feeling a bit home sick (and maybe a bit lazy too ;) ) so we decided to have some nachos along with some awesomely yummy guacamole burgers (with grilled mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, cheese, and guacamole of course). It was SO good and the kids had fun sprinkling the cheese on the nachos. I took a few pics and decided I would share. :)

DISCLAIMER: I am NOT a food photographer. Man do I need to improve in this area! Also, in my defence, the light is  really really bad in my kitchen.

I think i will when I get my new D700 sometime in the next 4 weeks. The low light ablility on that camera is insane. I can’t wait!
