This weekend I was lucky enough to be a part of the beautiful wedding of Erica and Neal. Their head-over-heals love for eachother is apparent to everyone around them and their sweet and simple wedding fit their laid back personalities perfectly right down to the wedding slippers the bride wore down the aisle.

Wow! I have been so excited and nervous for this post and I’m kind of at a loss for words at the moment. This weekend was Jake and Jenny’s wedding day which marked my first EVER solo wedding. It was HOT and the ever threatening rain did not help my nerves one bit. We lucked out though, and the rain held off long enough for this awesome couple to have the beautiful ceremony outdoors as they had planned.

A picture is suppose to be worth a thousand words, and there are a lot of pictures here, so I won’t bore you with anymore of my lousy writing. On to the photos!

A few weeks ago I had the extreme privilege of helping my awesome friends Cathy and David, of Cathy + David Photographers, with the awesomely beautiful wedding of Zach and Tiffany. This couple is gorgeous to say the least and you can clearly see how much they love each other. While I didn’t get many opportunities to take photos before the reception (Zach, I am sincerely sorry for your minimal presence in this post), but I am so please with the photos I did get. Now onto the awesome wedding!

One of the best things about being a photographer in Bloomington is being able to photograph the awesome couples that met and fell in love while attending IU. They all have such great connections to the beautiful campus and each other. It’s such a great thing to see. An amazing example of such connections are John and Crystal. They were so cute and I could instantly see how much they love each other by the way she lit up when he told me about dropping the ring because he was so nervous to propose, and the way he held her and kissed her shoulder even when the camera was put away. They were such a joy to be with and to photograph and I loved the shots we got!

I was lucky enough to have the chance to meet a fellow photographer this weekend, Melissa from Melissa Copeland Photography! She was so nice and let me tag along to one of her weddings so I could see how she works and get some more insight into what it take to be a wedding photog. Let me tell you, it is HARD work. Not only do you have to be able to take a great photo, but you have to have stamina and a great personality to back it up. I’m loving every bit of it and I can’t wait to shoot my first solo wedding this weekend for Jake and Jenny! Until then, I’ll leave you with some shots from Amanda and Aaron’s Terra Haute wedding…

I knew the moment I met Jenny and Jake, that I was the luckiest photographer in the world. Not only are they incredibly adorable, and obviously in love, they are incredibly brave. You see, I have not shot a wedding before, and these two are going to be my willing guinea pigs when I shoot their big day on June 12th. They are so laid back, funny, and share my love for awesomely bad movies!

After a great lunch at The Uptown Cafe, we did a quick engagement session on campus. It was windy and pretty cold. Jenny was a trooper and took her jacket off so we could get some of these great shots.

Jake, Jenny, thank you SO much for being so awesome! You are the best first couple a photographer could ask for. I hope you love your engagement images and I can’t wait to create more for you on your beautiful day in June!
